| Alright, I have a bunch of bass guitars, bass pedals and a guitar I need to get rid of. I guarantee you won't find any of these basses at Nagwon, well except for the no-name :) I've imported most of these from Japan. Nagwon is a great place, but let's face it, a limited selection if you want something different. Here is a list of the basses and one guitar, with comments and prices:
1980 Aria Pro II Primary Bass guitar with DiMarzio pickups (stock). maple fingerboard, solid body (ash or alder?), sunburst finish with white pickguard. This is a great P-bass clone. These Japanese clones were better than the '80s Fenders in the eyes and ears of many collectors. It was made in the famous Matsumoku "Uncle Mat" factory of Japan. Check matsumoku.org for more info.... 350,000won w/ gig bag. BTW, it's really hard to find P-basses in Korea nowadays unless you want to pay 4 mil won for a vintage P or 200,000won for a dreadful copy. This is an excellent bass which has been setup professionally with new strings and is ready to gig.
1981 Tokai "Hardpuncher" bass, white with gold hardware, solid body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard. This is another Fender clone from Japan. This one is a P/J setup with a Jazz profile neck. This bass has some issues, though. It could use some work. The body has been refinished (a so-so job, you can see some mistakes) and the pickups aren't aligned properly with the strings so the A string is a little weak when plugged in. The neck is also twisted a bit so there is some buzzing on the D string middle frets. It's not bad if you play soft, but if you dig in, you will fret out. If I were to keep this bass, I would replace the neck and get the bridge re-set and the bass would be ready to go. For more info on Tokai check tokairegistry.com . These Tokais have a cult following. 1991 Aria Pro II IGB-700 bass. Sen body, maple neck. rosewood fretboard. Was a $700 retail bass back in it's day. Billy Gould of Faith No More used to play these in the early '90s. Finish is see through black. P/J pickups, active premamp with ability to bypass to passive. Strung in BEAD like a 5 string but with out the G. Gotoh tuners and Schaller roller bridge. This bass had a repair done on the scarf joint on neck but it functions perfectly now and you can barely notice the repair had been done. The hardware alone is worth 100,000won. Price 150,000won with gig bag. I'll even throw in some standard EADG strings if you want to put it back into standard tuning...This is a great bass if you want the lower range of a 5 string but don't want the wider neck.
2001-ish No name bass with Music Man style pickup, active preamp, with bypass option. Dark red, see through finish. Gold hardware, rosewood fretboard. 120,000won w/ bag. A good practice or starter bass. (not pictured here, email for photo or info.)
'80s Samick Standard strat copy guitar. I listed this guitar earlier but price is lowered now to 180,000won. Come with gig bag.
Older Boss Bass 7 band EQ pedal. 50,000won. Missing little knobs on the sliders, several scrapes and dents. Made in Japan. This will give your bass tone a boost...
Older Boss Bass Limiter LMB-2 pedal 40,000won. Made in Taiwan.
Boss Bass Overdrive ODB Pedal. 70,000won. This is in almost like new condition. Includes manual and original box. Made in Taiwan.
I don't need these pedals as I got a new Dunlop MXR-80...
